Creating Compliant Labels

Virtually all states require Cottage Food Operators to label their products.  Each state has slightly different requirements so it’s important to understand your state’s cottage food labeling laws.  To make things easier we have created label templates you can use to get started. 

Our label templates are designed to work with Avery Labels (Avery No. 5816 Shipping Labels). You can purchase the Avery 5816 labels here.  Avery labels are designed to work with just about every home printer out there. We have provided both form fillable PDF and Microsoft Word versions of the label templates.  Just download them from the links below and fill them out with the specifics of your product.  Bear in mind that you MUST list ALL of the ingredients in your products and provide allergen information on your labels.
