Preparing for the Holiday Season

By: Deanna Martinez-Bey

The holiday season is officially here at Cottage Nosh! Our neighbors have so much on their plates between work, family, and school. The holidays are fun, but definitely throw another layer into the mix.

This holiday season, let’s be there for our neighbors and communities. As cottage bakers, we provide a valuable service. We have the opportunity to make holiday baking easier. Let’s strive to completely take baking off of our communities to-do list this season.

All of us need to support local small businesses. Now is the time to get the word out about our cottage bakeries! We must let the world know about us so that they can support us by utilizing our baking services.

We have to let our neighbors and communities know that we offer handmade, home-baked, made from scratch pies, cookies, cakes, breads, cupcakes, and much more. You may be thinking, “How do I tell them about my home bakery?” Let me shed some light on that for you.

For starters, let’s get your profile and shop completed on the Cottage Nosh Platform. As a baker with Cottage Nosh, you have been assigned a baker’s success coach and have most likely already received emails and possibly a phone call from them. My advice to you is to utilize your baker success coach. Set up a phone call or Zoom meeting with them and allow them to help guide you through the process of getting your shop set up. Your coach will make this process easy for you!

After you have your shop set up, you are ready to start selling! A great way to get the word out about your cottage bakery is to share the link to your shop on Cottage Nosh with your friends and family. You can send them an email or a text introducing your new business. Share your shop link on your social media channels as well. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are great places to start sharing.

In addition to sharing your shop link on social media, call your family and friends to share your great news.

Newsletters are a fantastic way to share your news. Sending a newsletter to everyone on your email list is a quick and easy way to get the word out.

Mailchimp is a great website to use to create your newsletters. It is a free service, providing you have under 2,000 email contacts. In just a short time, you can create beautiful and professional-looking newsletters about your business.

Now, let’s work together to get your business growing and see those orders rolling in!
